How to share a Looker Studio report with someone who doesn’t have a Google account?
Looker Studio streamlines collaboration through email invitations, allowing targeted sharing with individuals or Google Groups. How to share a report ?
- Log in to Looker Studio.
- Access the specific report you wish to share and choose whether to view or edit it.
- Click on the Share icon located at the top right, triggering the Share with others dialog.
- Alternatively, if available, use the designated buttons to invite users for viewing or collaboration.
- For sharing directly from the Reports home page, locate your desired report, click More options on the right, and then select the Share icon to initiate the sharing process.
Share with specific users and groups :
- Open the dialog for sharing with others.
- In the Add people section, input the names or email addresses of those you wish to share with, including the option to share with Google Groups.
- Specify access permissions for the designated individuals or groups:
- Can edit: Users have the ability to edit the asset and share it with others.
- Can view: Users can only see the asset without the ability to edit or share.
- To assign different permissions to various individuals, utilize the Manage access option.
- By default, recipients receive an email containing a link to the shared asset. Uncheck Notify people to skip sending this email.
- Click Send to complete the sharing process.
Share with non-Google accounts :
To grant individuals direct access to your report, it is essential for them to possess a Google account. However, for sharing with those without Google accounts, consider the following options:
- Inquire if the intended recipient has a Google Account, which may include a personal account ending in @gmail.com or a work/school account utilized for Google products like Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, or Slides.
- If the individual lacks a Google Account, encourage them to sign up by providing the following link: https://accounts.google.com/signupwithoutgmail before proceeding with sharing the report.
- Alternatively, explore alternative sharing methods such as link sharing or sending the report via email in PDF format
Public link sharing :
Link sharing broadens report distribution beyond individual invitations, enabling seamless sharing with non-Google accounts and integration into various platforms like emails, blogs, and websites.
To get a shareable link :
- Access the Share with others dialog.
- Navigate to Manage access.
- On the right, select the appropriate link sharing option from the drop-down menu to meet your specific requirements.
Link sharing options :
For standard Looker Studio users, the available link sharing options include:
- Public viewing access for anyone on the Internet.
- Public editing access for anyone on the Internet.
- Viewing access for anyone with the link.
- Editing access for anyone with the link.

GoogleWorkspace link sharing options :
